ABSTRACT: The role of early childhood education in mathematical reasoning is crucial for understanding how early educational experiences enhance children's mathematical thinking and problem-solving abilities. This study examines how early childhood education programs influence the development of mathematical reasoning skills. The objectives are to (1) assess improvements in children's ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts, (2) evaluate the integration of mathematical reasoning activities in early childhood education curricula, and (3) examine changes in children's problem-solving abilities. A survey design is employed to gather comprehensive data on the role of early childhood education in mathematical reasoning. A purposive sample of 120 children  from preschools in Anambra State was used. The case study focuses on a preschool renowned for its mathematical reasoning program. Findings revealed significant improvements in children's ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts, the effectiveness of mathematical reasoning activities, and positive changes in children's problem-solving abilities. Recommendations included integrating mathematical reasoning activities into early childhood curricula and providing ongoing professional development for educators to enhance children's mathematical reasoning skills.
